Sunil founded Spark Root in 2017 after returning to Austin, his hometown, in 2015. Over 21 years he has managed and developed commercial projects across Texas with a combined value of more than $550 million, with a track record of managing consultants, controlling construction cost and schedule, and leading design. His projects have received numerous awards and accolades.

He has served on the City of Austin Zoning and Platting Commission and the Long Range Capital Improvements Plan Joint Committee, and is focused on the healthy, sustainable growth of Central Texas. Current work spans office, retail, industrial, and residential condominium developments valued at more than $250 million.

Sunil holds a finance degree from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin and spent two years overseas in postgraduate study of comparative Eastern and Western philosophy. He spent three years abroad managing the development of a non-profit health care center, is active in education philanthropy, and formerly taught in the MBA program at the Acton School of Business.
